Establishment
The MCYC was founded in 2021, by Dr. Mark Nabholz, Director of Music at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Montgomery, Alabama.

Education
Our goal is to provide high-quality choral instruction and meaningful musical opportunities that help students in the River Region develop their vocal abilities, musicianship, and confidence.

Community
The MCYC also seeks to foster teamwork, discipline, and a love of music while building a strong sense of community among young singers who share a passion for learning and performing together.
Frequently Asked Questions
When do rehearsals start for Fall 2026?
Sunday, September 13, 4:00-5:30 p.m.
Where are the rehearsals located?
In the 2nd floor Choir Room at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 1728 South Hull Street, Montgomery.
How often does the MCYC rehearse?
Each Sunday, unless otherwise announced. We generally follow the academic year schedule of the area public/private schools.
When do rehearsals end for the semester?
Our final rehearsal of the year will be Sunday, November 31, including our Christmas seasonal presentation in the sanctuary at Trinity Presbyterian Church. This is followed by a reception for the singers, their families, and all who come out to hear us!
How much does it cost to be a member?
$30 for a performance uniform shirt. We use the same shirt from year to year, so you will only need to purchase a new one if you outgrow the first one you buy! All music is provided by our host congregation, Trinity Presbyterian Church.
How old do I have to be to join?
Ages 12-19 are eligible. Occasional exceptions will be made for 11 year olds, depending on when their birthday falls.

Generally 2-to-4 performances per semester.
Can parents and grandparents sit in on a rehearsal?
Absolutely! We love it when family visits a rehearsal!
